Going to Ontario!

Yes, for Christmas! It's very exciting and all. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year for a lot of reasons. First, obviously, because we're celebrating the birth of Jesus, the person who saved us all. I always love driving around on regular errands and seeing billboards that have "The Season has a Reason" on it. It's nice to know that people are willing to spend money on a well-placed billboard to spread the gospel, and that they actually go out and do it. And, of course, hearing all kinds of Christmas songs on the radio, that subtly or not so subtly mention what Christmas is about. Namely, praising God for sending his Son down to save all of us sinners. And it shows how sinful we are by how much some people twist Christmas, making it X-Mas, or using it to advertise their new product.

Another reason is the presents. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the presents. However it also reminds you of the people who don't get things like this and makes you grateful that you live in a kind of country that can afford these kind of things. My school, as every other year, has done Operation Christmas Child. We get red and green shoeboxes, and the idea is that we fill them with fun toys and things that they might need in third-world countries, things like soap and toothbrushes, etc. On the day of the deadline, two ambulances come and we store the boxes there, where they carry them off to appropriate places. We make a big winding human brigade from inside, where the boxes are, to the ambulance, where the paramedics store them in. When all the boxes are in, they go roaring off, sirens and all.

And this Christmas, I get to see all my favorite relatives in Ontario. Now if only I could get my relatives from B.C. and Chicago there too........ Anyhow, the point is that this is the first Christmas that we're going to have in Onatario since we moved. And its going to be exciting! I think it will be even more fun because I'm not sure what its going to be like, having all my relatives there, which is going to be such a change from our usual Christmas events. But, the one thing I do know, is that its going to be AWESOME! I'm really glad that we FINALLY made plans (the finally was in there, because its been 11 years!) to go out there for Christmas! And I'll probably come back out of there with so many pictures that I could just lay them side by side in chronological order and relive it all again. Oh yeah, I hope to get a digital camera.

So basically, I like Christmas. That was my way of telling it in a winding, rambling, probably somewhat confusing way. But, I just thought I would let you all know, once again that we're going to Ontario and how excited I am!
